Three-State Credit Lifecycle

Each MCC credit moves through Issued, Active, and Retired — never backwards. Serial numbers follow the format MCC-[COUNTRY]-[PROJECT]-[VINTAGE]-[SEQ], making every credit traceable to a specific ecosystem.

Marine Permanence Buffer

Ocean ecosystems face unique risks — storm damage, coral bleaching, fisheries pressure. MCC holds a 10% buffer pool (vs. the 5% industry standard) specifically calibrated for marine non-permanence events.

Corresponding Adjustments

Every MCC credit supports Article 6.2 corresponding adjustments for international transfers. Host country Letters of Authorization and NDC accounting are built into the issuance workflow.

Satellite-Verified Monitoring

Registry status is linked to live MRV data from Sentinel-2, Planet Labs, and project-level IoT sensors. AI models flag anomalies automatically — no credit is issued without verified ecosystem data.

VVB-Gated Issuance

Credits are only issued after an accredited Validation & Verification Body (ISO 14065) signs off. MCC never self-certifies — every issuance requires independent third-party confirmation.

Public Document Access

Every PDD, monitoring report, verification statement, and issuance record is publicly searchable. Stakeholders, researchers, and buyers can audit the full paper trail for any MCC project.
