Every issued credit carries a unique serial number with full project lineage and a permanent retirement record. Anyone can verify any serial — no account, no request form.

03 · What the registry enforces

Lifecycle at the data layer

Every lifecycle transition is enforced and audit-logged in the registry database itself. Illegal state changes — a retired credit re-listed, an unverified issuance — are rejected, not flagged.

Retirement is final

A retirement writes a permanent record naming the beneficiary and the permitted contribution claim. Offsetting, neutrality and net-zero language is blocked at the point of retirement per the Claims Policy.

Article 6 attributes

Every unit defaults to “not authorized for Article 6 / voluntary use only”. Where a host country issues an authorization, the authorization reference, purpose and any corresponding-adjustment evidence reported by that Party are recorded on the serial record.
